分析书剑恩仇录传播学和武侠小说翻译

摘要:在中国文学探讨领域,新派武侠小说堪称众多当代中国文学类别中的一株奇葩。新派武侠小说的创作以中国普通大众为读者对象,迎合他们的阅读兴趣和阅读幻想,具有很强的娱乐属性,当它诞生之时,马上掀起一阵阵阅读狂潮,并且历久不息。新派武侠小说是当代中国通俗文学或者流行文学的优秀组成部分。然而,新派武侠小说以旧武侠小说蜕变而来,既有继承,更有革新。新派武侠小说创作家代表人物梁羽生、金庸和古龙等人的武侠小说,不但融合了中西小说写作技法,而且结合西方文明中的意识、人文关怀意识,有意识地对武侠小说中通常富含的中国文化知识和文化精神进行了存精华、去糟粕的加工处理。这就使得他们的小说(尤其金庸小说)又具备了一定的文学探讨价值。对于金庸武侠小说的文学探讨正获得严肃文学所应当享有的学术探讨地位。在武侠小说的翻译探讨领域,也渐渐有人开始涉足。新派武侠小说获得中国通俗文学门类里以所未有的全世界范围流行,受此启迪,鉴于中国文学在对外传播方面尚未找到有效出路,为了推动优秀中国传统文化在西方世界的传播,本论文作者以传播学为视角,对新派武侠小说对内、对外传播的全历程进行全景式的审视,理性探讨其本质属性,比较英汉版本武侠小说所面对的截然不同的读者群,揭示了在当前武侠小说英译探讨和实践中潜在的两大矛盾,即通俗小说的天然属性、功能和文学经典定位之间以及武侠小说英译和作家名声之间的矛盾,并宏观地以译者人选和读者接受的角度提出了一系列冀以指导武侠小说英译的倡议。作为例证和验证,本论文以《书剑恩仇录》的英译历程为例进行个案探讨。虽然晏格文不是一名探讨中国文学和文化的专家,但是正因为《书剑恩仇录》的英语翻译以一开始就遵循了以上武侠小说英译的倡议,解决了使中国文学翻译与传播效果不能相互结合的各类矛盾与困惑,才使得《书剑恩仇录》的英译本得到了西方读者大众的认可,成功传播了中国传统文化。关键词:传播学论文新派武侠小说英译论文娱乐属性论文西方读者论文《书剑恩仇录》论文
