1. Understand Feng shui Objectively

Huangdi Zhaijing (the earliest Feishui book on residence in China) says that residence is the basis for people to settle down and live, therefore, when the residence is in a good condition the family can live safely and prosperously, or else, the family will decline day by day. It stresses the importance of Feng shui theory.

1.1 The Eight Diagrams

Eight Diagrams includes Qian, Kun, Zhen, Xun, Kan, Li, Gen, and Dui. It represents eight directions. In the application of architecture and landscape design, they are the basic elements. The Eight Diagrams derives from the cognition of earth rotation and the combination of society and philosophy in ancient China. It has twenty-four Yao which clearly refer to the twenty-four solar terms in China.
1.2 Twenty-four mountains and the three-dimensional model
Twenty-four mountains is a practical operation to arrange the interrelationship of heen, earth and man. Firstly, the climate and weather is the periodic change of the universe. Secondly, the geology and landform of the geographical position are various, so it forms different microclimate. Thirdly, the unity and coordination within one's own ranks means when and where people were born is affected by the universe and the earth field.
The numerology system of Yi Jing is a three-dimensional model. It is a digital model whose information system includes time, place and character. Take Gen Diagrams for example, its time is spring and represents lunar January; the place is mountain or stones and paths; the direction is northeast. Knowing this, we can use them properly in the design of the architecture landscape.
